To our renters,

After 4 years and over 500 trips taken, it is with immense gratitude (and a little sorrow) that we say goodbye to the rental business. What a ride! Our guests have traveled to every continental state, some have gotten engaged (and even married!) on our trips, and all made memories they will carry for life.

Among the best decisions we made when we started the business was to include a Traveler’s Log in every van where guests could “journal” about their experience for the benefit of future travelers. When we flip through the (now hundreds of) hand-written pages, it hits home how much of an impact this company has had. We’ve always said, “it’s not about the van, it’s about where the van allows you to go.” And our guests WENT PLACES. The national parks, the wildlife sanctuaries, the stargazing, the ultramarathons, the rock-climbing, the weekend campouts, the beaches, the mountains… the list is a reminder of the incredible treasures this land has to offer. As one guest wrote, “the freedom to wander to wherever we wanted is a feeling we’ll want to chase again.” That’s the kind of message that is so gratifying to hear - the act of roaming is in our DNA, and we are all made better by travel!

If only the business could run on the positive vibes of our customers, we would continue operating forever. But the reality is the rental business (or any small business) is a difficult one to make a profit on. We are therefore shifting to focus on van sales until the rest of our fleet has been sold.

The part of the business we will miss most is the customers, mainly because we have AMAZING customers. It’s sad that we won’t be able to make new relationships, but we are so thankful for the ones we have. As another guest journaled, “thanks for the unforgettable memories.” We agree.
